It was a beautiful, sunny day when I visited the magnificent Hoysaleswara Temple, located within the district of Karnataka in Southern India. Built in the 12th century, the temple had been dedicated to Lord Shiva – one of the most cherished Hindu gods to date. Instantly, the impeccable architecture took my breath away. I couldn’t help but ask myself, how did the human race seem to lose our mastery to create such ornate designs and elaborate panel reliefs at such a grand scale? It was a sight to behold and I did not want to leave.
