Plane crash in Iran kills at least 37

Today, a plane crash took place in Tehran, killing at least 37 passengers and injuring 11.

Sephan Airlines fight 5915 operated with a Hesa IrAn-140-100 crashed into a warehouse just after take off from the domestic Mehrabad Airport in the Iranian capital, apparently due to an engine failure.

Luckily, there were no reports of fatalities on the ground.

Spare parts for aircraft are rare in Iran, due to the economical sanctions which are a result from Iran’s controversial nuclear program.
